The incredible Souq Al-Mubarakiya is a historic souq in Kuwait City. It is one of the oldest souqs in Kuwait and was a vibrant centre of trade long before the discovery of oil.

This fantastic traditional market is located in the heart of Kuwait City, between Abdullah Al-Mubarak, Abdullah Al-Salem and Palestine Streets. This incredible market has been around for at least 200 years! The market was damaged during the Iraqi invasion in 1990, but it was renovated and it got back its traditional flavour!

You can spend hours in this incredible market, strolling around and discovering amazing bargains on heritage goods such as stunning Persian silk carpets, authentic Arab antiques, exquisite perfumes like musk and oud, and traditional costumes.

This place is absolutely perfect for shopping, eating out or sightseeing! Al-Mubarakiya is packed with a huge variety of shops selling everything from dates, honey, spices, sweets, vegetables, fruits, meat and fish. And that's not all! You'll also find a fantastic range of shop accessories and gorgeous gold and silver jewellery.

And there's more! The market also hosts two small museums: And there's more! You'll also find the amazing Sheikh Mubarak Kiosk and the first pharmacy in Kuwait, with free admission.

You'll find a lovely courtyard near Masjid Al-Bahar (Sea Mosque) where you can enjoy traditional cafes brewing their teas over coals. There are also several small restaurants lined up where you can taste the delicious authentic Arab and Persian food in the open air! The prices are the absolute cheapest in Kuwait!

On scorching summer days, you'll love the refreshing mist of water that cascades over the tables, instantly cooling you down! There's even a children's playground nearby, and you can enjoy a shisha too!
