Day Trip to Funzi Island

Travel back in time on this day trip to Funzi Island, famous for its mangrove forests and absence of electricity or roads. It serves as a getaway from city life.

Description

At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Diani and begin our day trip to Funzi Island. We will travel towards Bodo, passing the village of Shirazi. During this 40-minute journey, enjoy views of the green sugar cane fields and the Ramisi Sugar Factory.

Upon arrival, we'll board a motorized canoe for an adventure down the Ramisi River, home to many birds. At low tide, we will spend time on the impressive sand banks of Funzi, where you can relax, swim in crystal-clear waters, and sunbathe.

Lunch will consist of seafood, grilled fish, and rice with coconut. Afterward, you'll have free time on the beach to unwind.

When we reconvene, we will explore the village of Funzi to learn about the local community's history and culture, with opportunities to interact with residents and understand their lifestyle.

Finally, after a four-hour tour, we will return to your hotel in Diani.

Hotel Pickup

Hotel pickup and drop-off are included for guests staying in Diani. If you are outside this area, we will meet at the Diani Bazaar.
