Hiking in the Banhoek Valley + Winery Visit

This hiking tour through the Banhoek Valley combines nature and wine. We will meet at 1 Rooi Street to begin our hike, covering a distance of 9 kilometers (5.5 miles) in the Stellenbosch area, offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.

The hiking route is designed to highlight the environmental conservation efforts of the Banhoek Conservancy project, aimed at benefiting the community and restoring ecological balance. Participants may have the opportunity to spot local wildlife, including bontebok and elands.

After the hiking portion, we will visit the Oldenburg Vineyards, a winery in the Banhoek area, to learn about South African wine. The experience will culminate with a wine tasting paired with cheese.

The entire excursion lasts approximately four hours and concludes with a minibus return to the starting point.
