La Ametlla de Mar Swimming with Tuna Experience

Dolphins, tropical fish and sharks... you might've swum with them before, but not with tuna! On our La Ametlla de Mar Swimming Tuna Experience, you'll swim with tuna and enjoy a truly unique activity in Tarragona.

La Ametlla de Mar Swimming with Tuna Experience

At your chosen time, we'll meet in the Ametlla de Mar Port, where we'll start the swimming with tuna experience. After a photo session, we'll sail aboard the Balfegó Tour catamaran. During a 20-minute trip to the bluefin tuna pools, an informative video titled From the Sea to Balfegó will be shown, detailing tuna characteristics and fishing techniques.

Upon reaching the bluefin tuna pools, we'll anchor for observation. Approximately 300 tuna specimens are here, growing up to 8 feet (2.5 metres) and weighing up to 330 pounds (250 kilograms).

After a brief explanation, the snorkelling activity will commence, allowing you 1 hour to swim closely with the tuna. Depending on your selection, a tuna tasting will occur after snorkelling on board the catamaran. The tour concludes with a return to the port after 2 hours on the water.

Children's tickets for ages 5-10 do not include tuna tasting, while free tickets for under 4s do not include swimming with tuna.

Snorkelling equipment not included

Due to Covid-19 precautions, snorkelling goggles, masks, and fins won't be provided. Please bring your own snorkelling equipment.
