On this tour from La Macarena, you'll discover the Caño Cristales, a 7-colour river located in the jungles of Colombia's interior.
Day Trip Details
At the scheduled time, we'll pick you up from the La Macarena airport. We'll head to the riverport to start our speed boat ride on the Guaybero River.
After approximately 20 minutes, we'll arrive at the Los Mangos harbour and transfer into a 4x4 jeep for a 40-minute journey to the Sierra de la Macarena checkpoint. From there, we'll begin our hike to the Caño Cristales in the Colombian Department of Meta.
The hike duration will vary based on the group's pace, during which we'll see natural swimming spots such as Ochos, Pianos, Piscina del Turista, and Tapete. We'll take a short break to swim and refresh.
At the end of the trail, we will reach Caño Cristales, recognized for its vibrant colours including blue, pink, green, red, yellow, and black. You'll have opportunities to photograph the scenery.
We'll enjoy a lunch in the open air featuring various cold meats wrapped in banana leaves. After lunch, we'll hike back to the starting point and return by jeep to Los Mangos, then take a speed boat back to La Macarena. We expect to arrive at La Macarena airport around 5 pm.
Pre-Tour Chat
Note that visiting Caño Cristales is not permitted on the same day you arrive in La Macarena due to an obligatory talk by Colombia's National Parks staff.
