La Orotava Banana Plantation Tour

At your chosen time, we'll meet at the organic Canary Island banana plantation on El Rincón road in La Orotava. Enjoy views of Mount Teide from this location in Northern Tenerife.

The visit will begin with a walk around the grounds while we explain the plantation's origins. We will discuss the banana production process, from gestation to commercialization.

We'll detail the characteristics of the Canary Island banana, which has the Protected Geographical Indication seal. This banana ripens three months longer than American bananas, resulting in an intense flavour and high nutrient content.

As we are on an ecological farm, we'll describe the thriving ecosystem that includes beneficial insects, healthy grains, and birds which provide fertiliser, all vital for the plantation's health.

At the end of our walk, we'll enjoy a tasting of Canary Island bananas and a shot made from the fruit.

After a 50-minute visit, we'll conclude outside the plantation.
