Explore the Bolivian capital on this unconventional walking tour of La Paz and discover famous landmarks, indigenous traditions, and spectacular views!
Description
We'll meet at the designated time at the The Steakhouse on Calle Murillo, in the heart of La Paz. From here, we'll set off on an alternative route to the usual tourist paths, visiting places frequented by the locals.
For an authentic experience, we'll use public transport (bus, microbus, or cable car) to reach the various stops. The first stop will be the Cementerio General, an expansive cemetery with a significant history.
Next, we'll take the cable car to El Alto to appreciate the city from 2.5 miles (4,000 meters) above sea level on the Altiplano plateau. We'll also visit the witches' market, where you can get your fortune told with coca leaves by a local yatiri.
Afterwards, we'll head to the El Alto viewpoint for an impressive view of the La Paz valley and the Illimani Mountain in the background.
At the end of the 3-hour tour, we'll return to the starting point and enjoy a typical drink at the Sol y Luna Café.
