Sail through the largest lake in South America and visit the cradle of the Inca civilization on our Lake Titicaca Catamaran & Sol Island Visit from La Paz. We'll explore a beautiful place and go on a totora reed boat ride.

Lake Titicaca Catamaran & Sol Island Visit

At 6:30 am we’ll pick you up from your hotel in La Paz. We'll drive to the sanctuary where the Basilica of Our Lady of Copacabana is located.

From here, we'll board the catamaran and start sailing on Lake Titicaca, known as the highest navigable lake in the world.

As we make our way to Sol Island, the lake's largest island and former seat of the Inca Empire, we'll admire the lake's views. Legend states that Viracocha, the Incan Sun God, was born here.

We'll visit the gardens and the Inca Fountain before heading to the Inti Wata archaeological complex. This site is one of the main attractions on Sol Island and in Bolivia.

While we're here, we'll also visit the Ekako underground museum and the traditional medicine and totora reed raft construction centres. We'll explore the island's flora and fauna with a visit to the agricultural terraces and the herds of Andean camelids at Manco Capac viewpoint.

Before departing Sol Island, we'll take a boat ride on a totora reed raft, providing panoramic views of the Pilkokaina Palace.

After the reed boat ride, we'll return to the catamaran for a buffet lunch as we cruise through the lake. We'll then reach the mainland and return you to your hotel by bus, with an estimated arrival time of 7 pm.

Finish in Puno

If you'd prefer, you can choose to end the catamaran cruise in Puno. The route will remain the same as described above. After lunch, we'll take you to Puno by bus.
