Hike Overview

At the scheduled hour, we will gather at Sagarnaga Street, 242 in La Paz, ready to set off toward Nevado Charquini. Are your hiking boots ready for action?

Our initial stop will be the La Apacheta Viewpoint, situated just an hour’s drive from our meeting point. Here, you'll be treated to spectacular vistas and insights into the ceremonial practices that occur in this revered location. Following this, we will visit the Milluni Mining Cemetery, a site rich in history that reflects the life of miners in Bolivia.

After another hour on the road, we'll arrive at the trailhead for our hike to Charquini Lagoon. As we make our way along this picturesque path, be prepared to be amazed by the surrounding scenery. Upon reaching the emerald lagoon, you'll have some leisure time to unwind, snap photos, and enjoy a snack amidst nature—don’t forget to pack your lunch!

Once we’ve recharged, we'll retrace our steps back to the vehicle. After a total of 3 hours hiking, we will make our return to La Paz, where we will conclude our journey at the same spot we started, wrapping up a fulfilling 7-hour experience.
