Discover what life was like in Bolivia over three thousand years ago on this fascinating day trip to Tiwanaku. Our professional guide will show you around one of the most important archaeological sites in South America.

Description

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in La Paz. We'll then make our way toward the archaeological site of Tiwanaku, which flourished around 1500 B.C., representing the first Precolombian empire in South America.

Our first stop will be the lithic museum of Tiwanaku, housing tools and works of art for conservation.

Next, we will visit key locations in Tiwanaku, including the pyramid of Akapana and the temple of Kalasasaya, used as a ceremonial calendar.

The tour will include an underground temple with zoomorphic and anthropomorphic symbols and the Puerta del Sol, a symbol of the civilization. We will learn about the historical context and the influence on later cultures like the Incas.

We'll return to La Paz after a total of 8 hours.
