Uyuni & Death Road 5 Day Trip

On our 5-day trip from La Paz, you'll cycle along Death Road and visit the Uyuni Salt Flat and its surroundings, experiencing breathtaking views and the culture of Bolivia.

Description

Day 1: La Paz - Death Road - La Paz - Uyuni

We'll pick you up from your hotel in La Paz between 7:30 am and 8 am and drive to Death Road. At La Cumbre, 15,400 feet (4,700 metres) above sea level, we'll start cycling along steep roads and rocky paths with waterfalls. After this, we'll return to La Paz and board a bus to Uyuni for the night.

Day 2: Uyuni

We arrive in Uyuni at 7 am and have breakfast before taking a jeep to the Uyuni Salt Flat. Our first stop will be the train cemetery for photos, followed by Colchani to learn about salt extraction. We will then explore the Uyuni Salt Flat and visit the Dakar monument and Playa Blanca salt hostel. We'll end the day at Incahuasi Island, watching the sunset over the salt flat before staying overnight in a hostel in Uyuni.

Day 3: Uyuni - Huayllajara

After breakfast, we'll head to the Red Lagoon, passing Cañapa, Hedionda and Chiacorta lagoons, the Siloli Desert, and the Stone Tree. Lunch will be at Paso del Inca, followed by arrival at the Red Lagoon at 4 pm to see flamingos. We'll spend the night at a hostel in Huayllajara.

Day 4: Huayllajara - Salvador Dalí Desert - Uyuni - La Paz

After breakfast, we'll visit Sol de Mañana for volcanic activity before going to Eduardo Avaroa National Reserve. A stop at Chalviri Hot Springs will be included. Next, we'll explore the Salvador Dalí Desert and pass the viewpoints of Verde and Blanca lagoons and Lincancabur Volcano. We'll return to Uyuni for our bus back to La Paz.

Day 5: La Paz

We'll arrive back in La Paz at 6:30 am after an overnight journey.
