Uyuni & Death Road 5 Day Trip

On our 5-day trip from La Paz, you'll cycle along Death Road and visit the Uyuni Salt Flat and its surroundings, immersing yourself in the culture of Bolivia.

Description

Day 1: La Paz - Death Road - La Paz - Uyuni

Pickup from your hotel in La Paz between 7:30 am and 8 am. Travel by bus to Death Road, cycling from La Cumbre at 15,400 feet (4,700 metres) along steep roads and past viewpoints. Following the ride, return to La Paz for an overnight bus to Uyuni.

Day 2: Uyuni

Arrive in Uyuni at 7 am and have breakfast. Travel by jeep to the Uyuni Salt Flat, stopping at the train cemetery and Colchani salt iodization plant. Visit the Uyuni Salt Flat, the Dakar monument, and Playa Blanca salt hostel. Finish the day at Incahuasi Island, famous for its cactus, with a sunset view over the salt flat, before staying overnight at a hostel in Uyuni.

Day 3: Uyuni - Huayllajara

Breakfast at the hostel before heading to the Red Lagoon, passing Cañapa, Hedionda, Chiacorta lagoons, Siloli Desert, and the Stone Tree. Lunch at Paso del Inca, arriving at the Red Lagoon at 4 pm to see flamingos. Overnight in Huayllajara.

Day 4: Huayllajara - Salvador Dalí Desert - Uyuni - La Paz

Visit Sol de Mañana to observe volcanic activity, followed by Chalviri Hot Springs. Explore the Salvador Dalí Desert and viewpoints of Verde and Blanca lagoons and Lincancabur Volcano. Return to Uyuni for a bus back to La Paz.

Day 5: La Paz

Arrive back in La Paz at 6:30 am.
