Discover the stunning Valle de la Luna (Moon Valley) and Chacaltaya Mountain, two key tourist attractions in Bolivia on this trip from La Paz.

Valle de la Luna and Mount Chacaltaya Trip

In the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel in downtown La Paz and head towards Mount Chacaltaya. After approximately two hours crossing the Bolivian altiplano, we will reach the mountain's base camp.

From there, a short 650-foot hike will take us to the summit, where you will enjoy panoramic views of Bolivia, with snow-capped peaks contrasting with typical brown landscapes. After taking in the view, we will descend from Chacaltaya and continue to the Valle de la Luna.

Upon arrival, we will explore the valley on foot. The hike will be gentle due to the lower altitude. Our guide will provide insights into the origin of the rock formations and the fascinating story behind the valley's name.

Our trip concludes by returning to La Paz in the mid-afternoon, with a drop-off at the Plaza de San Francisco.
