What to expect
In the Old Port of La Rochelle, you will see three medieval towers: Saint Nicholas, the Lantern, and Chaîne, built in the 14th century to defend the city and control ship transit.
With this ticket, you will access the Lantern tower, the tallest and only medieval lighthouse on the Atlantic coast, as well as the Saint Nicolas and Chaîne towers, which were used to monitor ships. You will learn how these towers were interconnected by a chain.

Please note that the towers will be closed on the first Monday of each month from September to June.
Special Opening Hours
On December 24th and 31st, 2024, the towers will close at 4 pm.
Final admission is 45 minutes before closing. These times are flexible and subject to change.
Free Admission
Free admission is available for:
Young people from the EU aged 18 to 25.Children under 18, regardless of nationality.
Entry is free on the first Sunday of the month from January to March and November to December, and on the 3rd weekend in September.
To obtain free admission, visit the ticket office with a certifying document.
Partial Closure
Due to technical reasons, the tower of San Nicolas will remain closed until further notice.
