Located between two large bodies of water, the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, this small island is home to a large number of Hawksbill and Green turtles, small nurse sharks and small reef sharks, as well as large manta rays.

We will sail through the Catuano Channel, the natural separation between Isla Saona and the mainland, with just over 8km long, this place has become a refuge for a large number of marine species such as manatees, turtles, countless birds, etc.

The sandbar, it is a very shallow area in the middle of the Catuano channel, here, the water will barely cover our ankles, starfish, mollusks like the Lambí or small turtles are frequent visitors to this area.

Named by the ancient Toeya indigenous people as Ikita Island, it is a small island of only 9.5 square kilometers that is completely uninhabited. It has various natural beauties such as its paradisiacal white sand beaches and incredible crystalline waters where countless species of fish live. The most popular activities in this area are snorkeling and diving given the nature of its translucent waters and the amount of corals.

Other of the many natural attractions that we will find during our activity, is Cayo Ratón, bathed by the waters of the Atlantic Ocean, it is a beautiful coral reef with crystal clear waters and decorated with an infinity of corals, the fauna in this place is very varied and without a doubt it is the ideal place to practice snorkeling.

This beautiful excursion could not be complete without a visit to the paradisiacal Saona Island, where a delicious Dominican lunch will be waiting for us, in this place we will have free time to enjoy the area, swim in its calm waters and relax under the paradisiacal coconut palm trees.
