La Spezia Food Tour

At the selected time, we'll start our food tour in Piazza Garibaldi, where our guide and expert in local cuisine will be waiting for us. Together, we'll explore the flavors that best represent the culinary tradition of La Spezia, which is rooted in Ligurian gastronomy and that of nearby Tuscany.

The route will take place in the historic center of La Spezia and includes five stops in different locales. We'll try a variety of dishes including finger foods like farinata, sgabei, and fried anchovies and squid, as well as more substantial dishes such as pasta with walnut sauce and mesciua (a grain and legume soup).

We will also taste a versatile dish known as testaroli when boiled and served with pesto, parmesan cheese, and mushrooms, or panigaccio when baked and accompanied by cold cuts and cheese.

No food tour would be complete without the best artisanal gelato in town, so ensure to save room for dessert! After three and a half hours of tasting our way through La Spezia, we'll conclude our gastronomic experience with our guide.
