La Spezia Food Tour

At the selected time, we'll start our food tour in Piazza Garibaldi, where our guide and expert in local cuisine will be waiting for us. Together, we'll discover the flavors that represent the culinary tradition of La Spezia, rooted in Ligurian and Tuscan gastronomy.

The tour takes place in the historic center of La Spezia and includes five stops at different locales. We will sample a variety of items including farinata (chickpea pancakes), sgabei (bread fritters), and fried anchovies and squid made by local fishermen, as well as more substantial dishes like pasta with walnut sauce and mesciua (a grain and legume soup).

Additionally, we will taste a versatile dish whose name changes with cooking methods and ingredients. When boiled and paired with pesto, parmesan, and mushrooms, it is called testaroli, and when baked with cold cuts and cheese, it is called panigaccio.

Lastly, we will enjoy the best artisanal gelato in town, so save room for dessert. After three and a half hours of exploring La Spezia's culinary delights, we will conclude our gastronomic experience.
