La Vega Religious History Private Tour

At 10 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in La Vega and set off on our private tour. We will discover fascinating facts about Christianity as we explore the city.

First, we'll visit Duarte Park and admire the Immaculate Conception Cathedral. Inside this basilica, we'll explore symbolic details and note the significant number 12 on stained glass, doors, and more. We will also observe representations of heavenly clouds and subtle indications of sin in the structure.

After the Cathedral, we will visit the Sacred Museum to see priceless relics and Taíno figures. Next, we continue to the Church of Our Lady of Mercedes in Santo Cerro, where we will learn about the legend of the cross of Columbus and the indigenous population.

Our final stop will be La Vega Vieja, the site of the first settlement established by colonists, which was destroyed in an earthquake in 1562.

We will conclude our tour and return to the starting point by 1:30 pm.
