La Vega Religious History Private Tour
At 10 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in La Vega and commence our private tour. During this exploration, we'll uncover various facts about Christianity. First, we'll visit Duarte Park and the Immaculate Conception Cathedral. Inside this basilica, you'll notice the number 12 on stained glass windows and doors, a significant number in Christianity, along with representations of sin in its structure.
After the Cathedral, we'll visit the Sacred Museum, filled with priceless relics and Taíno figures. We will then proceed to the Church of Our Lady of Mercedes in Santo Cerro, where you'll learn about the legend of the cross of Columbus, the indigenous population, and the Virgin Mary.
Our final stop will be La Vega Vieja, the site of the first settlement established by colonists, which was destroyed by an earthquake in 1562. The tour concludes at 1:30 pm.
