Tour Description
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the entrance to the Tapparelli d'Azeglio Castles in Lagnasco, a complex made up of three buildings dating back to 1100. The fortresses, built between the end of the 11th century and the 18th century, are located at the foot of the Italian Alps. This tour includes insights into the history of the castles and highlights of the artistic works within them.
Notably, in 1560, the castle was home to the court of Emanuele Filiberto of Savoy and Marguerite de Valois. Visitors will explore spaces including the Hall of the Coats of Arms and the loggetta delle magiche grottesche, featuring frescoes by Pietro Dolce that depict imaginary and monstrous creatures reminiscent of Hieronymus Bosch's works.
