Activity Overview

Our day begins at the Estancia Cristina pier, where participants will board off-road vehicles to embark on an exciting 4WD adventure through one of El Calafate's most breathtaking regions. Prepare for an exhilarating ride.

Once aboard the jeep, we'll speed through the Feruglio mountain range, surrounded by the pristine glacial scenery. Following this, a 20-minute hike will lead us to the Upsala Glacier viewpoint. The views from this vantage point promise to be awe-inspiring, showcasing the natural beauty of this Argentine wonder.

As we relish the extraordinary vistas, we'll delve into discussions about the geological features of Argentinean Patagonia and share captivating details, including the fact that Upsala ranks as the third-largest ice sheet globally!

After soaking in the viewpoint’s beauty, we'll pause for a meal and recharge our energy. The lunch will consist of two Argentinean empanadas, lamb casserole or pasta with pesto, followed by a flan, with the option of wine or soda, and coffee or tea.

Next, we'll explore the central areas of Estancia Cristina to gain insights into the local culture and lifestyle. To conclude our journey, we'll board a boat that will return us to the pier, with a planned departure back to El Calafate at 8 pm.

Pickup Information

During the booking process, you can select an option that provides hotel pickup and drop-off. If you prefer not to include this option, please arrive at Estancia Cristina pier by 8:15 am. The return boat will return you to the pier at 7 pm.
