Mirador Volcano Hiking Tour

On this hiking route through the Mirador volcano, we will explore the landscapes and volcanic lagoons of the Nilahue valley and enjoy views from its summit.

Mirador Volcano Hiking Tour

We will meet at 9 am at the Rincón del Colihual restaurant and travel in our own vehicles to the Nilahue river valley.

After about an hour, we will park and begin the hiking route. An introduction will precede our journey into a forest, where we will walk and listen to birdsong.

We will soon reach the forest's edge, revealing the Mirador volcano. We will first circle the base of the volcano before climbing to the summit, following the paths created by magma from the 1979 eruption.

During the hike, we will stop at viewpoints of the Carran and Pocura lagoons, and observe the craters on the volcano's surface. At the summit, you will experience the panoramic view of the Nilahue valley, its lagoons, and the Cordón Caulle mountain range.

We will then return along the same route to our vehicles and drive to the Ojos del Huishue, a series of waterfalls formed by the Riñinahue River.

Finally, we will return to the starting point and conclude the tour at approximately 4 pm.
