Pico Island Dolphin & Whale Watching
Participants will meet at the dock of Rua dos Baleeiros in Lajes do Pico. Biologists will conduct a brief technical talk before departure. The trip will be aboard a Zodiac boat, sailing along Pico's southern coastline.
During the excursion, sightings of whales and dolphins common in the North Atlantic will occur. The staff will assist in identifying species based on features like fins and backs.
The boat trip offers views of Pico Island's coastal landscapes and includes discussions on the history of the Azores and other marine species in the archipelago.
The excursion lasts for 3 hours before returning to the initial dock.
