Tekapo Stargazing
On the day of the activity, we will meet at the specified time on Andrew Don Drive, just a four-minute drive from the Tekapo city center, to commence the stargazing experience.
At our stargazing location, we will embark on an astronomical journey covering constellations, alongside scientific facts. The guide will share insights on various astrological theories from Greek mythology to Maori legends.
Participants will sit outside with blankets and hot chocolate while using a powerful 9.25-inch computerised telescope to view different stars in the sky and learn about the solar system.
As our time concludes, we will gather around a fire pit to roast marshmallows and make our final observations of the starry sky.
In total, the experience lasts for 1.5 hours.
