At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in La Rioja and start a 4x4 trip along the Ruta Nacional 40 to explore the history of gold mining in Argentina. We will travel through Cuesta de Miranda, stopping at viewpoints to enjoy the surrounding sierras.

After enjoying the views extending to Famatina, you will have free time to grab food. Once refueled, we'll continue along a mountain road with views of the Sierra de Famatina, visiting the Pesebre and Ocre canyons.

We will arrive at the La Mexicana Mine, located at 4,200 metres (13,780 feet) above sea level. The tour will cover the gold rush in Argentina in the 19th century and the history of this significant mining center.

We will learn how precious metals were extracted and the story of the cable car used to transport the metals to Chilecito.

Finally, we will return to La Rioja, concluding the excursion at your hotel after 12 hours of driving.
