Delve into the rich history and powerful nature of Gran Canaria by visiting the Old Town of Las Palmas, the Botanical Garden and the incomparable Caldera de Bandama.
Tour Highlights
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at Plaza Hurtado de Mendoza, known as Plaza de las Ranas (Frogs Square), to begin our guided walking tour of the historic center of Las Palmas. This area includes the city’s oldest buildings, such as the Casa de Colón (Columbus House), which is dedicated to Christopher Columbus. You'll also explore the main square and the Cathedral of Santa Ana, a central landmark of Las Palmas, as well as modern constructions like the Gabinete Literario and the Pérez-Galdós Theatre, named after a prominent Spanish writer.
The walking tour lasts approximately 20 minutes, followed by 40 minutes of free time. Then, we will travel by coach to Caldera de Bandama, stopping for around 15 minutes to take photos of the crater, which is 1,000 meters wide and 200 meters deep. After this, the tour will proceed to the Viera y Clvija Botanical Gardens, allowing 45 minutes for exploration of species from the Macaronesian ecosystem.
The tour concludes after 9 hours in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, where you can have lunch, visit the Poema del Mar aquarium, or tour nearby attractions such as Las Canteras Beach, the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium, and the Las Arenas Shopping Centre. Following the tour, you will be dropped off near your hotel.
