Snorkelling with Whale Sharks in Holbox
Love the sea and marine life? Try snorkelling with whale sharks in Holbox! We'll snorkel in the warm waters of the Caribbean in search of one of the largest fish in the world, a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
At the indicated time, we'll meet at Calle Palomino and start the day with breakfast consisting of yoghurt, granola, fruit, and freshly baked bread, accompanied by coffee or tea. During breakfast, a safety briefing will be provided, and snorkelling equipment will be assigned. Afterward, we'll head to the dock to board the boat and head into the warm waters of the Mexican Caribbean. During the trip, interesting facts about the whale shark will be shared, including its size of up to 12 meters (39 ft) in length.
Once ready, we'll don our snorkelling gear and search for different specimens, including hundreds of whale sharks that arrive annually to feed on plankton along the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea coasts. Other marine life, such as hawksbill turtles and devil rays, may also be spotted.
After swimming with the whale sharks, we will stop at Los Cuevones reef near Cabo Catoche to snorkel and observe species like cat sharks, octopus, and squid.
Post-swim, we will enjoy fish or mango ceviche in Santa Paula, an ideal spot to relax. The activity lasts between 6 and 7 hours, concluding back at the meeting point.
