Snorkelling with Whale Sharks in Holbox
Meet at Calle Palomino and begin with breakfast consisting of yoghurt, granola, fruit, and freshly baked bread with coffee or tea. A safety briefing and snorkelling equipment assignment will follow. After preparation, we will head to the dock and board a boat to explore the warm waters of the Mexican Caribbean. During the trip, learn about whale sharks, the largest fish in the world, reaching lengths of up to 12 meters (39 ft).
After equipping our snorkelling gear, we will search for whale sharks, which arrive annually to feed on plankton along the coasts of the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea, observing them in their natural habitat. Expect to also see hawksbill turtles and devil rays.
After the swim, we will return, stopping at Los Cuevones reef off Cabo Catoche to snorkel and see species such as cat sharks, octopus, and squid.
After the activity, enjoy fish or mango ceviche in Santa Paula before concluding the tour back at the meeting point, taking around 6 to 7 hours in total.
