The Fougères-sur-Bièvre Castle is among the prominent fortifications in the Loire Valley. This ticket allows access to the castle's rooms, which date back to the mid-15th century, during a time of strategic importance in France. Unlike the Renaissance castles, Fougères Castle exhibits a more defensive character and is located along the Bièvre River, constructed from limestone rubble and tuff.

Your visit includes access to the castle's garden and various rooms, including the Council Chamber.

Opening hours

The Fougères-sur-Bièvre Castle opens at the following times:

May 2 to September 4: Open daily from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and from 2 pm to 6 pmSeptember 5 to April 30: Open every day except Tuesday from 10 am to 12:30 pm and from 2 pm to 5 pm

Last entry is allowed up to 1 hour before closing. On December 24 and 31, the closing time is at 4 pm. Note that schedules may vary slightly.

Documentation is required at the monument's ticket office for free admission. Additionally, admission is free on the first Sunday of the month from January 1 to March 31, and from November 1 to December 31, as well as the 3rd weekend in September.
