Description

Provence is home to three Cistercian abbeys, one being Le Thoronet Abbey, located near the town of Le Thoronet. With this ticket, you can explore this 12th-century monastery, constructed by the Order of Cistercians for spiritual retreat and contemplation.

Key areas include The Cloister, the lavabo washing fountain, and the dormitory where monks lived. You can also observe the Abbey Church, refectory, sacristy, chapter house, and armariums for liturgical books.

Opening Times

Le Thoronet Abbey is open daily:

October 1 - March 31: from 10 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 5 pmApril 1 - September 30: from 10 am to 6:30 pm

On December 24 and 31, 2025, the abbey closes at 4 pm. Last entry is 45 minutes before closing time. Note that these hours are flexible and subject to change.

Admission is free for:

Free admission is available on the first Sunday of the month from January 1 to March 31 and November 1 to December 31, as well as the 3rd weekend of September. To obtain free admission, visit the ticket office and show a certifying document.
