Lecce Guided Visit

Meet at the scheduled time in the Piazza Sant'Oronzo for the guided visit of Lecce, known as the Florence of the South. The tour includes walking through the historic centre, exploring sites from the Roman Empire, such as the theatre and amphitheatre from the 2nd century AD.

The tour features the façade of the Castle of Charles V, built in 1539, and highlights Lecce's connection with the Spanish Crown, including Renaissance buildings like Vernazza Palace and numerous churches with Baroque features.

Participants will visit the Church of San Giuseppe and observe the Basilica of Santa Croce, focusing on its decorative details and the dragons on the façade, symbolizing the Battle of Lepanto.

The visit also includes the exterior of Lecce Cathedral and its square, where the Episcopal Palace and the seminary can be observed.

After 1 hour 30 minutes of exploration, the guided visit concludes back at the starting point.
