Meet us at the Leiria Castle ticket office, the perfect spot to kick off our guided tour of this fortress. We will uncover many secrets!

The castle, inaugurated in 1135, has been well-conserved. As we stroll through the rooms, we will share the story of its impressive construction, commissioned by the first king of Portugal, Alfonso Henriques, to defend the kingdom's borders.

In the city, we will find several significant monuments, such as the Church of Nossa Senhora da Penha, the ancient Pazos Reales, the Main Tower, and stunning views unique to Portugal. After learning about the fortress' past, we will tour the city streets to visit the Leiria Cathedral, known for its unique history.

Next, we will continue through Leiria, seeing the Casa de los Pintores and the Casa de los Arcos. Our final stop will be the Jewish Quarter, a neighborhood with a preserved medieval layout.

After about 2 hours of exploring this historic city, we will conclude our tour at this last stop.
