Meet us at the Leiria Castle ticket office, where we will start our guided tour of this fortress. The castle, inaugurated in 1135, has been perfectly conserved. As we explore its grand rooms, we will discuss its construction mandated by Alfonso Henriques, the first king of Portugal, aimed at protecting the kingdom's borders.

In addition, we will see several other significant monuments, including the Church of Nossa Senhora da Penha, the ancient Pazos Reales, the Main Tower, and enjoy remarkable views. After learning about the fortress' history, we will continue to the Leiria Cathedral. While its exterior may appear austere, it has a unique history that our knowledgeable guide will reveal.

We will also visit the Casa de los Pintores and the Casa de los Arcos. The last stop will be the Jewish Quarter, known for its preserved medieval layout.

After 2 hours of exploring this historic city, we will conclude the tour at this final stop.
