Tour Details
We'll meet at the chosen time during the booking process at the Museum of San Isidoro de León. The tour will cover one of the most visited monuments in León. You will journey through the various rooms, where the exhibition space has been increased threefold, including the cloister and the chapter house. One highlight is the Arqueta de los Marfiles from the 11th century.
The tour features the Royal Panteon, also known as the Sistine Chapel of the Romanesque, where we will discuss the history of the frescoes. We will also visit the main staircase, the chamber of Doña Sancha with its mural paintings, and the Renaissance Library housing around 2,000 volumes and over 100 codices.
Additionally, the chalice of Doña Urraca will be highlighted, a Romanesque goldsmith's work. The tour lasts one hour and concludes at the museum's entrance.
