Colombian Amazon 2-Day Tour

If you're looking to connect with nature and you're in Leticia, you can't miss this 2-day tour to the indigenous community of La Libertad. We'll discover the great charms of the forest in the far south of Colombia!

Description

Day 1

This 2-day tour will start at your accommodation in Leticia. We will pick you up at the indicated time and head to the Amazon jungle.

We'll board a boat for a journey along the Amazon River, traveling approximately 43 kilometres (26 miles) for an hour and a half. During this time, we'll pass by communities along the riverbank.

Upon arrival at the indigenous community of La Libertad, we'll begin by visiting the chagra, the community's crops. Here, we will learn about the significance of agriculture for the Yagua people.

Next, we'll engage in a nature walk through the Amazon rainforest for about 1 hour, searching for species such as frogs, tarantulas, and monkeys.

A traditional lunch will be served around midday, allowing you to enjoy the region's authentic cuisine. After lunch, there will be time for rest before a canoe ride on the Amazon, potentially observing a sunset over the river.

Activities conclude around 5:30 pm, followed by dinner in the community. After 8 pm, enjoy a conversation with a local elder about the culture and history of the Yagua people.

Day 2

On the second day, we'll start with a delicious breakfast at 8 am. This will be followed by a crafts workshop with community experts.

After completing the workshop, we'll bid farewell to the community and begin our journey back to Leticia, with arrival scheduled for 11 am.

Accommodation

The tour includes one night's full board accommodation in cabins with private bedrooms and bathrooms. You may choose between a room with a double bed or two single beds when booking.
