Explore the wildest and most rugged part of Colombia with our Colombian Amazon Villages 4-Day Tour. We'll take you to the rural villages of Puerto Nariño and Mocagua with an English-speaking guide.
Description
Day 1
We'll meet at the boardwalk of Leticia at the scheduled time and begin our adventure through one of Colombia's densest jungles. We'll board a boat and follow the Amazon river until we reach Puerto Nariño. In Puerto Nariño, we'll take a guided tour of the town. After dinner at the hotel, we will explore the Puerto Nariño jungle equipped with rubber boots and headlamps.
Day 2
Day two will start with a canoe ride to the Peruvian Cacao Island, where we'll learn about various Amazon tree species. After lunch, we will enjoy a boat ride on the Loretoyacu River to observe its biodiversity, including fish and reptiles. In the evening, we'll embark on a nocturnal expedition in search of black caimans, followed by dinner and an overnight stay in a cabin by Lake Tarapoto.
Day 3
After breakfast, we'll float down the Amazon River for 2 hours to Mocagua, a community for learning about Amazonian tribal traditions. After a traditional lunch, we will visit the Mocagua Monkey Sanctuary to see rescued primates up close, ending the day with an overnight stay in Mocagua.
Day 4
The last day will be spent traveling back to Leticia. After breakfast in Mocagua, we will start our journey at 7 am or 10 am, returning to Leticia where we will say our goodbyes.
