Lhasa Temples & Monasteries: 4 Day Tour

Day 1

Upon arrival at Lhasa Airport or train station, you will be transferred to your hotel to rest before exploring Lhasa, the capital of Tibet.

Day 2

The day starts early with a visit to the Potala Palace. After climbing nearly 400 steps, you will reach this UNESCO World Heritage Site, the former residence of the Dalai Lama, containing over a thousand rooms, chapels, libraries, and murals.

Next, visit the Jokhang Temple, a key spiritual site in Tibet, where you can see a remarkable statue of Buddha at 12 years old. Explore the Barkhor district outside the temple, rich in local pilgrim activity. The day concludes with a welcome meal in a local restaurant.

Day 3

The third day includes a journey to Dadong, a well-preserved Tibetan village set in scenic landscapes. Visit the historical Nyimatang Monastery from the 11th century, and enjoy a traditional meal with a local family.

Later, visit the Sera Monastery to experience the lively debates among Buddhist monks.

Day 4

On the final day, you will be transferred back to the airport or train station in Lhasa.

Important

A special permit is required to enter Tibet. Provide your passport details during booking to receive the Tibet Entry Permit within approximately 8 working days. Bring your passport and Chinese visa.Pickup times are at 10 am, 1:30 pm, or 5 pm.The transfer back is at 6:30 am, 8 am, or 12 pm.For different pickup or drop-off times, you will be contacted to arrange details.

Note on prices

A minimum of two participants is required for tours. Solo travelers may either pay a supplement for a solo tour or reschedule without charges.

For group bookings with an odd number, first book double rooms and then single rooms, noting you are traveling together.
