Nicaragua Day Trip from Guanacaste
On the day of your excursion, you'll be picked up from your hotel in the morning and travel from Guanacaste to the north, crossing the border into Nicaragua.
Your first stop will be at Lake Nicaragua, where you'll enjoy a boat ride to explore the Nicaraguan islets, including a visit to one for a taste of Nicaraguan cuisine.
Next, visit Granada, where a guided tour of Nicaragua's oldest city's historic center awaits. Located on the shore of Lake Cocibolca, you'll delve into Granada's cultural heritage and colonial history, while seeing notable landmarks.
As you stroll through the city, you'll visit the Cathedral, prominent for its yellow colonial architecture. Learn about Granada's nickname "La Gran Sultana" as you observe the architecture.
After leaving Granada, explore the Masaya Volcano National Park. You will walk between the craters of the San Fernando and San Juan Volcanoes. Enjoy the views of the surrounding hills during your hike.
Before concluding your tour, stop at the Masaya Handicraft Market for souvenirs and visit the Catarina Volcano viewpoint.
At the end of your day, return to the border with Costa Rica and be transferred back to your hotel in Guanacaste 14 hours after departure.
