Nicaragua Day Trip from Guanacaste

Your excursion begins with a morning pickup from your hotel in Guanacaste, heading north to the Nicaragua border. You will first visit Lake Nicaragua for a boat ride to explore the Nicaraguan islets and enjoy traditional Nicaraguan cuisine.

Next, you will tour Granada, Nicaragua's oldest city, situated by Lake Cocibolca. This guided tour focuses on the city's cultural heritage, colonial history, and indigenous legacy, featuring significant landmarks. You'll visit the Cathedral, a notable colonial structure that contributed to Granada's nickname, "La Gran Sultana."

After exploring Granada, proceed to Masaya Volcano National Park to hike between the craters of the San Fernando and San Juan Volcanoes. You will enjoy views of the surrounding verdant hills. The tour concludes with a visit to the Masaya Handicraft Market for souvenirs and a stop at the Catarina Volcano viewpoint.

After your day in Nicaragua, you will return to the Costa Rica border and be transferred back to your hotel in Guanacaste approximately 14 hours after departure.
