Nicaragua Day Trip from Guanacaste

On the day of your excursion, you'll be picked up from your hotel in the morning and set off from Guanacaste towards the north. After reaching the border, you'll enter Nicaragua.

Your first stop will be at Lake Nicaragua for a boat ride to explore the Nicaraguan islets, where you'll enjoy typical Nicaraguan cuisine.

Then, head to Granada for a guided tour of the historic center of Nicaragua's oldest city on the coast of Lake Cocibolca. Discover its colonial past and indigenous legacy as you visit key landmarks. Stroll through the streets to see the bright yellow Cathedral and learn about Granada's architectural styles and heritage.

Afterward, visit Masaya Volcano National Park to walk between the craters of the San Fernando and San Juan Volcanoes. Enjoy views of the surrounding hills during your hike.

Before concluding the tour, stop at the Masaya Handicraft Market for souvenirs and pass by the Catarina Volcano viewpoint. You'll return to the Costa Rican border and be transferred back to your hotel in Guanacaste approximately 14 hours after departure.
