4x4 Tour of the Chilca or Marcahuasi Desert

During your reservation, you will have the option to select from various experiences. Each package includes hotel pickup, transportation via a 4x4, an English-speaking guide, and all necessary gear for your chosen activity. Below are the detailed descriptions of the available options:

Sandboarding (2 hours)

At the scheduled time, we will collect you from a location in Lima of your choosing. We will then embark on a journey of roughly one hour towards the Chilca desert in a 4x4 vehicle.

Upon our arrival, we’ll begin exploring the dunes in an off-road vehicle, taking in the stunning arid landscape. Subsequently, we will participate in one of the local favorites: sandboarding.

Equipped with the required materials and after a brief instructional session, you’ll have the opportunity to glide down the dunes. This exciting experience amidst the vast sand hills of Chilca will surely be one to remember!

Following 2 hours of sandboarding fun, we will return to the 4x4 for our journey back to Lima, arriving at your hotel approximately 4 hours after the tour starts.

Sandboarding + Picnic in Chilca (7 hours)

For those seeking a more extensive adventure, we will pick you up from your Lima hotel and take you to the Chilca desert.

Upon arrival, our skilled driver will navigate the off-road vehicle through the striking tiered dunes. Once we have all the equipment ready and after a practice session, we will dive into the sand dunes for an immersive sandboarding experience!

After 2 hours of sandboarding, enjoy a delicious picnic lunch in the desert to recharge your energy. The picnic features red wine, a ham and cheese platter, various types of bread, water, and an assortment of snacks.

After 7 hours of exploration in the Chilca desert, we’ll return you to the meeting point.

Schedule: Offered at 8 am and 2 pm.

Biking in the Chilca Desert (6 hours)

This tour will commence in a 4x4 vehicle through the Chilca desert at your chosen time. We will traverse the dunes before switching to an exhilarating bike route across the desert.

Peddle through varied terrains as we gradually ascend to the pinnacle of the highest dune in Chilca. This promises to be an unforgettable experience!

After 6 hours of activity, we will return to your hotel and conclude the tour.

Schedule: This tour is available at 8 am and 2 pm.

Hiking in Marcahuasi (11 hours)

If you select this choice, prepare for an early start. We’ll collect you from your hotel at the designated hour and depart in 4x4 vehicles towards San Pedro de Casta. After a short rest, we will continue towards the entrance of Marcahuasi.

Here, we’ll set out on a hiking trail leading to the Marcahuasi Plateau. During our hike, you will be treated to views of stunning rock formations, vibrant lagoons, and archaeological sites that will leave you in awe.

Finally, we will return to your hotel, completing the day after an enriching 11-hour tour.
