House Aliaga Guided Visit

Travel back to the era of colonial Lima with our House Aliaga Guided Visit, located in Perú Square. House Aliaga is one of Lima's oldest buildings, constructed in 1535, the same year Lima was founded.

The mansion's history dates to Francisco Pizarro, who allocated land plots in Lima among his men, including Jerónimo de Aliaga y Ramírez. Aliaga settled in the Indies at 16 and became one of Peru's conquerors. The Aliaga lineage has resided in this house since its construction.

Over the years, the house has witnessed significant historical events. It served as a refuge for notable figures, including President Miguel Iglesias and various military generals during the Republic.

During the visit, we will explore the house's luxurious halls and learn about the family that has lived there for 17 generations. Highlights of the tour include the tiled living room, bedrooms decorated in Louis XVI style, and views of the courtyard featuring a 19th-century English fountain.

Additionally, we will visit the chapel, which once had walls covered with silver plates removed during the War of Independence.

The guided visit lasts just under 3 hours, concluding with farewells.
