Lima Churches Tour

We'll meet at the scheduled time at the entrance of the Church of the Nazarenas to begin our tour around Lima's churches. The Peruvian capital has been linked to Catholicism since its inception due to the Spanish conquistadores who introduced the faith and the friars who converted local Indigenous populations.

Lima is notable for being the home of two saints and the seat of the Archdiocese of Peru. The tour will include the sanctuary and monastery of Las Nazarenas, where the Lord of Miracles is venerated.

Next, we will visit the Sanctuary of Saint Rosa de Lima, where the saint lived in the 16th and 17th centuries. We will also see the house of Saint Martín de Porres, another important figure. Our journey continues to the Convent of Santo Domingo, notable for its rococo bell tower, housing the remains of Peru's most revered saints.

We will then proceed to the Plaza de Armas to see the Cathedral of Lima, the resting place of Francisco Pizarro, followed by the Convent of San Francisco. The tour will conclude at St. Peter's Basilica, a 16th-century architectural treasure.
