Stroll around the main religious sanctuaries and convents in the Peruvian capital on our Lima Churches Tour. We'll explore architectural gems such as the sanctuaries of Saint Rosa de Lima and Saint Martín de Porres.
Lima Churches Tour
We'll meet at the entrance of the Church of the Nazarenas at the scheduled time and start our tour around Lima's churches. The Peruvian capital has been linked to Catholicism since the arrival of the Spanish conquistadores, who brought the faith to the region.
During the tour, we'll visit the sanctuary and monastery of Las Nazarenas, where the Lord of Miracles is venerated. Next, we will go to the Sanctuary of Saint Rosa de Lima, located in the city where she lived between the 16th and 17th centuries. We will also visit the home of Saint Martín de Porres.
Continuing, we'll reach the Convent of Santo Domingo, known for its rococo bell tower. This site houses the remains of the saints Saint Rosa de Lima, Saint Martín de Porres, and Saint John Macias.
At the Plaza de Armas, we’ll see the Cathedral of Lima, the resting place of Francisco Pizarro. Following this, we'll visit the Convent of San Francisco, a significant landmark in Lima.
Lastly, we will arrive at St. Peter's Basilica, a 16th-century structure founded by the Society of Jesus. After exploring this religious history for 4 hours, we'll conclude the tour at St. Peter's Basilica.
