Go back to the time of the ancient Andean civilizations as you discover the ruins around one of the most impressive archaeological sites on the central coast of Peru with this Pachacamac Tour.
Pachacamac Tour
After picking you up, we'll depart from downtown Lima and head towards the Lurin Valley. Here we'll visit the pre-Inca ruins built in honour of the god Pachacamac, creator of the universe according to the ancient Andean peoples.
Before reaching our destination, we'll make a stop in the Bohemian neighborhood of Barranco, where we'll learn about its past as a fishing village and later as an exclusive seaside resort. After discovering this urban area of Lima, we'll travel to Pachacamac.
During our 30-minute tour, we'll explore the history of the Andean civilization and learn about the daily life of the Moche, Huai, and Inca cultures. As we tour the impressive Pachacamac Citadel, we'll learn about its famous oracle, a prominent ceremonial centre for the Inca Empire.
We'll approach the Temple of the Sun remains, built by the Incas from thousands of adobe bricks. From its summit, you'll have a chance to see views of the Pacific Ocean, the Andes Mountains, and the esplanade where the ruins lie. We'll also visit Acllawasi, a sacred place where the virgins lived who were sacrificed as offerings to the Sun God. The tour will end after 3 hours, returning to your hotel in Lima.
