South Peru Campervan Tour Package: 14 Days

This package allows you to select a campervan for an adventure across southern Peru. Recommended route includes:

Day 1: Lima

Upon arrival, you will be picked up and taken to your hotel in Lima for your first night. Your vehicle will be provided at the hotel.

Day 2: Lima - Paracas

Depart early for the Paracas National Reserve, approximately a 3-hour drive. Enjoy the scenery or visit the Ballestas Islands to see Humboldt penguins and sea lions. Camping options are available at the reserve campsite.

Day 3: Paracas - Nazca

Please consider visiting the Ballestas Islands in the morning or take a vineyard tour in Ica or a dune buggy ride in the Paracas Desert. Drive to Nazca, approximately 3 hours 30 minutes, and rest at Casa Hacienda de Nazca.

Day 4: Nazca - Puerto Inca

Option to take a flight over the Nazca Lines. Additionally, visit the Cantalloc aqueducts, Chauchilla cemetery, and Cahuachi pyramids before a 2-hour 30-minute drive to Puerto Inca.

Day 5: Puerto Inca - Arequipa

Prepare for a 250-mile (400 km) drive. In Puerto Inca, visit the Quebrada La Vaca archaeological complex before proceeding to Arequipa via the Cuesta de los Andes.

Day 6: Arequipa

Spend the day exploring Arequipa's viewpoints, monasteries, churches, and the Ashlar route for quarry visits. Experience traditional Arequipan cuisine for lunch.

Day 7: Arequipa - Colca Canyon

Head to Colca Canyon, approximately a 4 hour 30-minute drive, with opportunities to see Andean condors.

Day 8: Colca Canyon

Explore nearby villages such as Chivay, Yanque, and others. Canoeing on the Colca River is also an option.

Day 9: Colca Canyon - Lake Titicaca

Travel to Lake Titicaca, approximately a 6 hour 30-minute journey with possible stops in Lampa. Camping options are available on the lake’s shores.

Day 10: Lake Titicaca

Spend a full day exploring Lake Titicaca and its attractions, including Uros Island, Taquile, and Amantani via kayak or speedboat.

Day 11: Lake Titicaca - Cusco

The drive to Cusco takes about 7 hours. Stops at Pucara, Racqhi, or Andahuaylillas are recommended. Overnight at Sacsayhuaman campsite in Cusco.

Day 12: Cusco - Sacred Valley

Visit the Sacred Valley to explore Sacsayhuaman, Tambomachay, Tipon, or the salt mines of Maras, with camping available in the valley.

Day 13: Sacred Valley - Machu Picchu - Cusco

Visit Machu Picchu, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Overnight in a Cusco hotel, where the campervan will be collected.

Day 14: Cusco

You will be picked up from your hotel in the morning and taken to the airport.

Tour with a driver

If you prefer not to drive, a tour with a driver is available. You'll be transported from the airport to the hotel in Lima, continuing with the driver along the outlined tour.

What are the campervans like?

All vehicles feature GPS, manual transmission, with a cruising speed of 62 mi/h (100 km/h). The Hyundai Campervan measures 8.2 feet (2.5 metres) in height, and the Hilux Motorhome measures 6.9 feet (2.1 metres). The campervans accommodate up to 5 people, with sleeping arrangements for 3 adults and 1 child in the Hyundai, and 2 adults and 1 child in the Hilux. Tents and sleeping bags can be rented at campsites for an additional fee of 10 USD for tents and 8 USD per sleeping bag.
