Obidos & Nazare Excursion

Ancient walls, castles, and the Portuguese surfing paradise await on this excursion to Obidos and Nazare from Lisbon.

Description

We will meet at the Praça Marquês de Pombal and head north to the town of Obidos, recognized as a significant medieval site in Portugal.

The guided tour of Obidos begins at the Porta da Vila tower. After passing under its arch, we will enter the old town, characterized by its cobblestone streets that reflect its medieval past.

During the stroll through the old town, we will view the town's walls and the castle of Obidos, a 12th-century fortress recognized as one of the Seven Wonders of Portugal. A stop will be made at the aqueduct, notable for its engineering value.

The tour continues on Rua Dereita, where you will have one hour of free time for lunch. It is recommended to try the traditional stew, ensopado de enguias.

After lunch, we will proceed to visit the coastal town of Nazare, known as a surfing destination. You will have approximately one hour to explore the coastal streets and enjoy views from the Mirador de Subero.

Finally, we will return to the meeting point in Lisbon, concluding the tour after 8 hours of sightseeing.
