Obidos & Nazare Excursion

Ancient walls, castles, and the Portuguese surfing paradise await on this excursion to Obidos and Nazare from Lisbon.

Description

We will meet at the scheduled time at the Praça Marquês de Pombal and head north to the town of Obidos, noted for its medieval architecture.

The guided tour of Obidos will begin at the Porta da Vila tower. After passing through its arch, we will enter the old town, characterized by scenic cobblestone streets, reflecting its historical importance.

As we tour the old town, we will see the outline of the walls and the impressive facade of the castle of Obidos, a 12th-century fortress recognized as one of the Seven Wonders of Portugal. We will also stop in front of the aqueduct, an example of the city's engineering feats.

The tour continues along Rua Dereita, where you will have an hour for lunch. It is recommended to try the traditional dish ensopado de enguias.

After lunch, we will head to the coastal town of Nazare, a popular surfing destination. You will have time to explore the streets and enjoy views from the Mirador de Subero.

Finally, we will return to the meeting point in Lisbon, concluding a total of 6 hours of sightseeing.
