St Declan's Way Experience
Our meeting point is set for 11 am on West Street in Lismore. Upon arrival, we will initiate our walk along the segment of St Declan's Way that winds through Lismore, a well-trodden path for those travelling from Cashel to Ardmore.
The adventure begins as we cross the charming stone bridge over the River Blackwater, where breathtaking views of Lismore Castle await. As we unveil the hidden stories of this ancient Jacobean Way, we will make our way to the Ballyrafter House Hotel.
At this location, we will delve into the connections between the historic hotel and the nearby fortress, as well as its historical significance to those journeying along St Declan's Way. Continuing our exploration, we will step into Ballyrafter Forest, where the diverse wildlife of County Waterford can be observed.
As we conclude our tour, we will arrive at Millennium Park, a vital landmark within the town's rich heritage.
Ultimately, we will return to our original meeting spot, wrapping up our St Declan's Way experience around 12:30 pm.
