Nitmiluk National Park & Boat Cruise
Pickup will occur at the specified meeting point in Darwin and we will travel to Nitmiluk National Park, approximately 250 kilometres (155 miles) away. The bus will take us along Stuart Road, noted for its scenic views of the Northern Territory.
Halfway, we will stop at the Adelaide River War Cemetery, honoring those who died during the Second World War in the Northern Territory. Following this, we will continue to Nitmiluk Park.
We will explore its rugged landscapes, starting with the Katherine River Gorge and Edith Falls. A pause at the waterfalls will allow us to appreciate the scenery and learn about the legends of the Jawoyn people, guardians of the park.
After a buffet lunch outdoors, the tour proceeds to the Visitor Centre to view photographs, Aboriginal artefacts, and videos.
The tour concludes with a boat cruise along Katherine Gorge, lasting two hours, where you will observe the diverse wildlife, including crocodiles and birds.
The return to Darwin will follow a comprehensive 14-hour tour of this region in Northern Australia.
