Liverpool History Tour
We'll meet at 2:30 pm in front of Sailors' Home Gate to start our guided tour of Liverpool. Discover the evolution of this British city over more than three centuries.
The tour begins with a walk through the streets of Liverpool, exploring its history and architecture until reaching the Chinese Arch, the gateway to Europe's oldest Chinatown.
Near Chinatown, we will visit the Liverpool Cathedral, built in red sandstone. We will examine the façade of this 20th century Gothic style temple designed by Giles Gilbert Scott.
Next, we will visit St Luke's Church, known as the 'bombed church', where we will discuss the city’s experiences during World War II and its recovery from the destruction.
The tour will conclude in the Cultural Quarter around 4:30 pm, including a look at St George's Hall, a notable neoclassical building, and the Liverpool Central Library.
