On this trip from Livorno to Lucca and Pisa, we will explore significant historical sites in two Tuscan cities. Key attractions include the Guinigi Palace, the Basilica of San Frediano, and the Amphitheater Square.
Day Trip Details
We will meet at via Claudio Cogorano and board a bus to Lucca. After one hour, we will arrive in the historic center of Lucca for a guided walking tour. This will cover the exterior of the Basilica of San Frediano and the Palazzo Guinigi tower. Additionally, we will discuss the history of gladiator fights in Amphitheater Square and the life of composer Giacomo Puccini.
After the walking tour, you will have about two hours for lunch and further exploration. Following three hours in Lucca, we will return to the bus for a 40-minute ride to Pisa, where you will be dropped off a 15-minute walk from Piazza dei Miracoli. Here, you will have about one hour and 45 minutes to visit the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Cathedral, and the Baptistery.
After 7 hours of sightseeing, we will return to the starting point.
