Day Trip to Lucca + Pisa

On this trip from Livorno to Lucca and Pisa, you'll discover a medieval town rich in historical significance, featuring numerous monuments. Key highlights include the Guinigi Palace, the Basilica of San Frediano, and the Amphitheater Square, among other sites we will explore.

Day Trip Details

We will meet at the designated location in via Claudio Cogorano and board a bus to embark on our journey to two stunning Tuscan cities.

After approximately one hour, we will arrive at the historic center of Lucca. An escorted walking tour will begin, allowing us to dive into the city's rich history while admiring the façades of key monuments.

This tour will include the exterior of the Basilica of San Frediano, a 12th-century church, and the tower of Palazzo Guinigi, among other notable sites. We will also visit Amphitheater Square, recalling the gladiator fights that once took place there. Throughout the tour, engaging stories and interesting trivia about these landmarks will be shared, including insights on the famous Italian composer, Giacomo Puccini, who lived in Lucca.

After the walking tour, you will have around two hours of free time for lunch and further exploration. Be sure to bring your camera!

Following our stay in Lucca, we will board the bus for a 40-minute drive to Pisa. You’ll be dropped off about a 15-minute walk from the renowned Piazza dei Miracoli, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Your time in Pisa will include approximately one hour and 45 minutes to visit the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Cathedral, and the Baptistery, all of which are sure to impress.

After a full day of sightseeing lasting 7 hours, we will return to our original meeting point.
