Carihuairazo Volcano Laguna Congelada Tour

At 8 am on the morning of the tour, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Baños de Agua Santa. From there, we'll travel west by minibus to the Chimborazo Fauna Production Reserve, about two hours away.

Upon arrival, you'll see the Chimborazo volcano, the highest peak in Ecuador at 20,700 feet (6,310 meters). Nearby is the Carihuairazo volcano, our destination for the day.

We'll begin a 3-hour hiking route to explore the wilderness surrounding the two volcanoes. The trail will take us through snowy terrain, allowing us to admire high peaks and extensive valleys until we reach the frozen lagoon of Carihuairazo, known as the Laguna Congelada.

While at the lagoon, we'll explain how this location was formed millions of years ago by the melting of the glacier of the Carihuairazo volcano.

We will take a break next to the frozen lagoon to enjoy a picnic that includes a sandwich, fruit and juice. Afterward, we'll start our return journey.

We will return to the minibus and head back to your hotel, where the excursion will conclude at 5 pm.
