Your day begins at 8 am when we will collect you from your accommodation in Baños de Agua Santa. After this, we'll embark on a minibus journey westward for approximately two hours, heading towards the Chimborazo Fauna Production Reserve.

As we arrive, you'll surely be captivated by the majestic Chimborazo volcano, towering at a height of 20,700 feet (6,310 meters)—the tallest peak in Ecuador. Adjacent to this marvel lies the Carihuairazo volcano, our primary destination for the day.

We will commence our 3-hour hiking expedition, immersing ourselves in the pristine wilderness adjacent to these two volcanoes. By traversing through the snowy landscapes, you'll be greeted by towering peaks and vast valleys until we finally reach the frozen lagoon of Carihuairazo, also referred to as the Laguna Congelada.

As you capture the beauty of this icy oasis, we will share the fascinating history of how this site came into being millions of years ago due to the glacier melt of the Carihuairazo volcano.

Following this, we will pause by the lagoon to indulge in a delightful picnic featuring a sandwich, fruit, and juice. After reenergizing, we will begin our descent.

Once we return to the minibus, we'll make our way back to your hotel, concluding our adventure by 5 pm.
