Fishing in Río Zuñac & Barbecue

Activity Details

Your journey begins with a pick-up from your accommodation in Baños at an agreed time, after which we will head to the Río Zuñac Reserve. Once we arrive, we will equip you with all the essential gear to navigate the river in search of the renowned carachama (pineapple pleco fish) and the wels catfish.

You will learn a traditional technique of fishing, utilizing wires and your hands to catch the fish. This authentic activity will immerse you in the local culture! Afterwards, we will see who among us managed to catch the most fish.

Once the fishing is done, we will visit the charming town of Río Negro to savor a barbecue-style lunch prepared by a local family. This is more than just dining in a restaurant; it’s an enriching experience where you'll enjoy fresh fish amid the site's scenic lush greenery. Best of all, you will have the opportunity to taste the fish you caught!

Finally, we will return to your hotel in Baños to wrap up this enjoyable 4-hour excursion.
