Itinerary

Your journey begins at the scheduled meeting point, located at the entrance of the Loulé salt mine, where we will initiate our guided excursion. We will first descend via an elevator, reaching an impressive depth of 754.5 ft (230 meters).

Upon disembarking onto the saline expanse, we will traverse a circular route through some of the mine's intricate galleries. Throughout the tour, marvel at the impressive scale and striking beauty of the walls, crafted from salt formations in an array of colors, which originated over 230 million years ago.

During our visit, we will delve into the process of salt extraction and discover the advancements in engineering and mining technology that have been instrumental in facilitating this labor-intensive trade.

Our exploration will conclude after approximately 1.5 hours as we make our way back to the surface.
