At the designated time, we'll meet at Piazzale Giuseppe Verdi and head to the walls of Lucca. Prepare to discover one of the landmarks of this UNESCO World Heritage city.

During the tour, we'll explore the period between the 13th and 17th centuries to understand the evolution of military engineering in Italy. The walls of Lucca were never used for defensive purposes due to the absence of conflict, which has allowed them to remain practically intact to this day.

The wall system is now integrated into a public park with green areas surrounding the city. We will walk around to admire the fortifications from both inside and outside. A visit to the inner galleries of the walls will showcase the locations where cannons and ammunition were stored.

Additionally, we will explore bastions such as San Donato and Santa Maria, learning about their roles within the wall structure and the restoration efforts of recent years.

Finally, the guided tour will conclude after 2 hours at the bastion of San Martino.
