Lucca Guided Tour
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at Piazzale Giuseppe Verdi to begin this guided tour to discover the main monuments of Lucca.
During our guided tour, we'll walk through the historic center declared a World Heritage Site and discover why Lucca is known as the City of 100 Towers & 100 Churches while admiring its most emblematic buildings.
Did you know that Lucca's walls have remained almost intact since the 16th century? The absence of war in the city has allowed these medieval fortifications to be preserved in perfect condition.
We'll continue the tour by visiting the Piazza dell'Anfiteatro, known for its unusual shape derived from the Roman amphitheater that once stood here in the 2nd century.
Next, we'll walk along Via Fillungo, where we’ll find the Torre delle Ore and the Church of San Cristoforo. Along the way, we'll also discuss Lucca's significance in the history of music, as it is the birthplace of composer Giacomo Puccini, known for La bohème.
We will conclude our guided tour next to the Lucca Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral of Saint Martin, after 2 hours together.
