Guided Tour of Lucca
Join us at the arranged hour at Piazzale Giuseppe Verdi, where our journey begins. This guided tour is designed to unveil the key monuments of Lucca. Let’s embark!
Throughout our stroll in the historic center, designated as a World Heritage Site, we will uncover the reasons behind Lucca’s nickname, the City of 100 Towers & 100 Churches, while taking in the splendor of its most notable architecture.
Did you know that the walls surrounding Lucca have stood largely undamaged since the 16th century? The peaceful history of this city has enabled these medieval defenses to remain in remarkable condition.
Next on our itinerary is a visit to Piazza dell'Anfiteatro, one of Lucca's most iconic locales. This square retains its unique shape from the Roman amphitheater that was constructed here during the 2nd century.
As we stroll along Via Fillungo, we’ll encounter significant structures such as the Torre delle Ore and the Church of San Cristoforo. During our exploration, we'll also discuss Lucca’s important role in the musical history, highlighting that it is the birthplace of the renowned composer of La bohème, Giacomo Puccini.
Our guided tour will conclude near the Lucca Cathedral, also referred to as the Cathedral of Saint Martin, after a two-hour exploration.
