On this day trip to Bern, we'll visit the historic city centre and a typical dairy farm where the famous Emmental cheese is made.

Day Trip Details

We will meet at the bus parking lot in Landenberg and drive south to some of the most beautiful parts of Switzerland.

First, we'll drive through Entlebuch, a biosphere reserve. After this area, we’ll stop in Trubschachen to visit the Kambly biscuit factory for a tour and a tasting.

Next, we will proceed to the capital of Switzerland for a walking tour of the historic centre of Bern. We will see the exterior of monuments such as the Bern Minster Cathedral, the Zytglogge clock tower, the Bundeshaus, and the Federal Palace of Switzerland located by the river Aare.

After the guided tour, you'll have an hour of free time for a drink, shopping, and strolling. We'll then reconvene to move to the outskirts and visit the Emmentaler cheese factory for a tasting of this renowned Swiss product.

After the cheese tasting, we’ll head to a local dairy farm for a photo opportunity with Swiss cows. If the weather permits, we may see the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau peaks.

Finally, we will return to the meeting point in Lucerne, concluding our day trip after 8 hours and 45 minutes.
