Grindelwald & First Mountain Day Trip

If you want to make the most out of the Swiss Alps, then you can't miss this trip from Lucerne, which will allow you to visit the town of Grindelwald and the top of the iconic First Mountain. You'll love it!

Day Trip Details

The trip begins at the bus parking lot in Landenberg in Lucerne, where we’ll depart by bus to the Berna canton. A brief stop will be made to take photos of Interlaken, located between Thun and Brienz lakes.

Afterward, we will proceed to Grindelwald, where you will receive your tickets for the return train to Interlaken and for the cable car to First Mountain at a height of 2100 metres (6,889 ft). You will have 3 hours of free time at First Mountain to eat and enjoy the scenery. With your cable car ticket, you can access the First View observation platform and the Cliff Walk by Tissot, a 40 metres (131 ft) suspension bridge.

Ensure to return by cable car to Grindelwald in time for your scheduled train to Interlaken. The bus will return to the meeting point in Lucerne, concluding the trip after 10 hours.

Optional activities available at the summit of First Mountain include:

First Flyer Zipline

Description: A zipline located 800 metres (2,624 ft) high, reaching 84 km/h (52 mph). Available until the 27th of October, 2025.

First Glider Zipline

Description: Similar to the First Flyer, shaped like an eagle, allowing 4 people to ride together. Available until the 27th of October, 2025.

First Mountain Car

Description: A pedal-powered vehicle covering 3 kilometres (1.86 miles) from First Mountain to Bort station. Available from the 1st of May, 2025, until the 27th of October, 2025.

Trottibike Scooter

Description: An electric bike from First Mountain to Grindelwald Station. Available from the 1st of May, 2025, until the 27th of October, 2025.

Tour Guide

This tour is partially guided, with the guide present on the bus ride from Lucerne to Grindelwald and during the trip back from Interlaken to Lucerne. During free time in Grindelwald and First Mountain and on the train from Grindelwald to Interlaken, the guide will not be present, but necessary information will be provided for you to explore these locations independently.
